SPECIAL EDUCATION - PHILOSOPHY OF ED

1. We believe that every child can learn; consequently, every child will have a curriculum tailored to his needs and abilities. See Psalm 119:71

2. We believe that every child needs love, rules, and training. Special education students are no different from any other child in this regard. Self-discipline will be taught with a very strong emphasis on love and training. See Proverbs 22:6

3.We believe that the Bible is our standard for living. We unashamedly claim to be fundamental Baptists in our doctrine and our life style. All of our students will be taught Bible beliefs and the Bible way of life. See I Thessalonians 2:13

4.We believe interaction within the general student body is a positive thing for both the special education student and the student body at large.

5.We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and that it is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the hearts. See Hebrews 4:12

6.We believe that it is the ministry of the Holy Spirit to teach. All students will take Bible in a regular Bible class and participate in chapel with the entire student body. See Luke 12:12

7.We believe that the childrens' goals must be shared goals and that the parents are an integral part of the training program for their children. Regular, close communication will be maintained with the parents. See Colossians 3:20
